RTÉ plans to sell part of its Dublin HQ

State broadcaster reportedly hoping to raise €50 million to invest in its television facilities

State broadcaster RTÉ hopes to raise €50 million from selling part of its Dublin headquarters .

Reports on Sunday said that it is hoping to raise €50 million from the deal to meet capital needs such as investing in its television facilities and technology.

Its property, located in Donnybrook on the capital’s southside, is said to be worth €12 million to €15 million a-hectare, implying that it will have to offload a significant portion of it to raise the cash it needs.

The broadcaster brought in property dealers CBRE and accountants KPMG last year to advise it on its options, one of which was said to be selling the entire site and moving to a new home.

However, the Sunday Times reported on Sunday that the company believes that the amount of infrastructure it has at Donnybrook makes this impractical.
