DevelopmentLand: A key site at the junction of Ballyboden Road and Ballyroan Road in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14, is likely to generate considerable interest among small developers when it goes to auction on April 5th.

Ross Shorten of Lisney, who is handling the sale, is quoting in excess of €2 million for the strip of land which covers an area of 0.12 ha (0.3 of an acre).

It currently contains a number of office, storage and workshop buildings along with a storage yard and car-parking. High profile sites such as this one are generally chased by German discounters Lidl and Aldi but, in this case, the overall space may not be adequate.

The more likely outcome is that it will be used for an infill residential development. The immediate area, developed in the 1960s, has become quite mature and settled. An adjoining site is occupied by an office building, Riverbank House.
