A LITTLE over a year after opening a large store in Dundrum Town Centre, Magee Menswear, left, is planning to move out. Agent CBRE in London has been engaged to sell the 25-year lease of the shop which is located in an external trading position close to the Sandyford Road.

The unit adjoins Harvey Nichols, Gant and Hamley’s Toys. Magee Menswear is paying a rent of €188,906 for the shop which extends to 176.4sq m (1,898sq ft). The sale comes at a time when Dundrum Town Centre is trading exceptionally well and is considerably busier than any other shopping centre in the Dublin suburbs.

A European study shows that Ireland ranks second out of 25 countries for shopping centre development.

Jones Lang LaSalle carried out the study that showed 440sq m (45,736sq ft) of shopping centre stock here for every 1,000 people. Bulgaria had the least amount of per-capita shopping centre stock with 25sq m (269sq ft) for every 1,000 people.
