Australian-owned Bariq Mining has awarded Irish engineering outfit Kentz a $33 million contract to carry out structural and mechanical work on the company’s copper processing plant at its mine in Saudi Arabia.

Bariq is a subsidiary of Australian group Equinox Minerals. Its Saudi operation was licensed as part of the Middle Eastern country’s drive to expand mineral mining there.

Kentz chief executive Dr Hugh O’Donnell said that the company was delighted to be working with Bariq.
