Solicitors take space in D2

Hayes Solicitors is to rent additional office space at Earlsfort Terrace in Dublin 2. The leading legal practice has been operating out of Lavery House on Earlsfort Terrace for several years and is now to expand into the sixth floor of the adjoining St Stephen's Green House. This will provide it with an additional 580sq m (6,243sq ft) of newly refurbished office accommodation. The lease will run for 15 years.

Paul Scannell of agent HWBC, who acted for the landlords, Bank of Ireland Asset Managers and Irish Life Investment Managers, is now marketing the fifth floor of St Stephen's Green House which has a floor area of 844sq m (9,085sq ft). He is quoting a rent of €538 per sq m (€50 per sq ft) and €4,000 for car-parking spaces.

Harry Corry opens 50th shop

The Northern Ireland curtain and bedding multiple Harry Corry is to open its 50th outlet tomorrow at Kinsale Road Retail Park in Cork. The new shop of 696sq m (7,500sq ft) will create 15 new jobs, bringing total employment in the group to 700. The company was set up in 1971 and is still owned and run by the Corry family. It now has 20 shops in the Republic and 11 in Scotland where it took over seven of the failed Textile World outlets. The balance of 19 shops are based in the North.

NEC factory makes over 3m

The former NEC factory on 18.8 acres at Ballivor village in south Co Meath has been sold to Baycross Developments for a figure believed to be over €3 million. Industrial buildings on the site extend to 12,589sq m (135,507sq ft). The new owners say they are open to any proposals for leasing part or all of the buildings. The sale was handled by Lisney and Navan agents Smith Harrington.
