BoConcept opens in Arnotts

BOCONCEPT, the Danish contemporary interior furniture brand, has opened a substantial concession store at Arnotts on Henry Street in Dublin 1. The BoConcept brand is no stranger to department store dynamics, with concessions operating across the globe including in Harrods and Selfridges in London and in the Spanish department store chain El Corte Ingles.

The BoConcept concession occupies 275sq m (3,000sq ft) in the furniture section of Arnotts on the top floor, alongside the Conran shop, Ligne Roset, Calligaris and Natuzzi. The BoConcept display includes many pieces from its 2011 collection including livingroom, diningroom, bedroom and office furniture and a full range of Danish accessories.

Barry Rochford of BoConcept said its addition to Arnotts would give those looking for home interiors and design a one-stop shop for great international brands. “It gives us a great opportunity to connect with customers from all over the country who may not be aware of our brand, or our south Dublin store.” Ger Ryan of Arnotts said BoConcept encompassed cutting edge contemporary design at competitive prices and increased the choice and range of its furniture department.

Elsewhere, leading Irish-owned women’s fashion group Pamela Scott has availed of much reduced rents and flexible lease terms to open five further stores in the run-up to Christmas. The new outlets, which bring to 31 the number of shops in the chain, are on the main streets in Ennis and Wexford and at shopping centres in Newbridge,Navan and Killarney.

Sean Barron, who controls the group, said he expected that the revenues from the new stores would help to underpin a number of its shops which were over-rented in the present business environment.
