THE PLANNED SALE of the former Dawn Dairies site at Dublin Road in Galway is expected to test the strength of the market in the city suburbs.
DTZ Sherry FitzGerald is guiding €2 million for the 1.32 hectares (3.28 acres) in Renmore which is zoned for residential use under the Galway City Development Plan 2005-2011.
The land is located in the centre of a long established residential suburb and is also close to GMIT, Flannerys Hotel, the Bon Secours Hospital and the former Corrib Hotel.
Patricia Staunton of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald said that sites such as that owned by Dawn Dairies seldom come on the market and because of its location she expected strong interest from both the local and national market.
