Co-op operating profits up 12%

Operating profits at Town of Monaghan Co-operative increased to £853,000 from the 1999 level of £565,000 on a turnover of £74.6 million, up 12 per cent on the previous year. Pre-tax profits rose 46 per cent to £900,000.

Higher dairy product prices and a 5 per cent increase in milk supplies from the North were the main factors contributing to the increased turnover.
