MR Michael Ovitz, who resigned on Thursday as Walt Disney president, will get a compensation package worth nearly $90 million (£60 million) for 16 months of work, US press reports said.

Mr Ovitz, who celebrates his 50th birthday today, will receive about $50 million as part of his contract, the newspapers reported. He also leaves with options on three million Disney shares that currently are worth about $40 million.
