Cappoquin Poultry has temporarily cut back production by 25 per cent in response to chicken food costs increasing by 55 per cent, writes Gordon Deegan.
Co-owner Tom Vaughan yesterday confirmed the cut in production as accounts were filed by the Co Waterford company. They showed it recorded a pre-tax profit of almost €300,000 in its first full 14 months of operating after rescuing almost 200 jobs at Cappoquin Chickens.
