A PRODUCT development manager with IBM Lotus, Mr Michael McGrath, has won the Institute of Chartered Accountant's fifth information technology award. He was presented with the award yesterday by Mr Niall Deasy, president of the institute. The award, a gold medal and a £500 cheque, is given for the best post graduate dissertation dealing with information technology in accountancy or finance related topics. Mr McGrath's thesis dealt with the use of artificial intelligence for the prediction of financial performance.
