DUBLIN TELECOMS software firm Arantech has been acquired by US company Tektronix Com-munications.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Arantech provides software to mobile phone operators which helps them identify new service opportunities and manage the experience that customers have using the services.
Arantech will continue to operate as a distinct brand with its own offices and management. It will become a stand-alone business within the Network Intelligence Solutions division of Tektronix.
Although privately held, Tektronix, which was founded in 1946, says it had sales of $1.1 billion for its 2007 financial year. The accounts show the company employed 110 staff that year.
Accounts filed at the Companies Office show Arantech, which was founded in 1999 as Aran Technologies, made a loss of €547,000 in 2007 down from €3.6 million in 2006.
Arantech won the Irish Software Association’s company of the year award in 2007, in recognition of 100 per cent sales growth for its flagship product, Touchpoint.
