MIVAN, the Antrim construction company, has won the £21 million contract to build the new Hilton Hotel in Belfast. Work on the hotel will begin on Monday week, with the completion date scheduled for the summer of 1998. The contract award will create 100 building jobs. The Hilton Hotel, to be located at Lanyon Place close to the Lagan beside Belfast's almost completed Waterfront Hall, will be 14 storeys high, with 182 bedrooms, swimming pool, health spa, bars, restaurants and conference facilities. Mivan has also won a $21 million (£12.9 million) contract for three high rise apartment buildings in Jakarta, Indonesia.
