Aepona, the Belfast mobile phone software company, which was set up by a group of Dublin entrepreneurs including Mr Gilbert Little, has become the latest casualty of the downturn in the global telecoms sector. The company, which specialises in developing third-generation mobile technology, is to shed 35 jobs in its Belfast office when it restructures its consultancy services division. Aepona currently employs around 160 people in the North. It closed its Dublin office earlier this year with the loss of 20 jobs.
