SPAIN's unemployment rate inched up to 22

SPAIN's unemployment rate inched up to 22.77 per cent at the end of 1995, the highest in the European Union, Madrid's National statistics Institute reported yesterday. Some 3.58 million Spaniards were jobless, up from 3.57 million from the last quarterly survey, but the result was an improvement over the end-1994 figure of 23.91 per cent.
