The chief executive of beleagured Belfast engineering group Mackie International, Mr Sul Sahota, received total compensation in 1997 of £171,288 sterling - made up of £115,385 salary, £5,903 in benefits and a bonus of £50,000. Mr Sahota is the only director to receive a bonus.
The annual report shows that Mr Sahota's predecessor as chief executive, Mr Peter Long, received compensation of £119,170 when he left his job, in addition to a salary of £48,000 for the portion of 1997 he served in the post.
Mr Long's predecessor, Mr Pat Dougan who is suing Mackie for £421,000 for loss of office received a salary payment of £96,250 before he relinquished the chief executive's position.
