One for the era of Insta, this ABC pilot tracks the life of Eliza Dooley who tries to control her online presence after an embarrassing video goes viral. Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) and John Cho (Harold and Kumar) star. It’s written by Emily Kapnek (Suburgatory, Parks and Recreation).

Ilene Chaiken (The L Word) is showrunner on this FOX (melo?)drama about the boss of a music empire whose three sons and ex-wife are all jostling for power. Lee Daniels (!) directs and Terence Howard (!) stars.

TV’s Scandinavian obsession continues apace, and this latest one is about an investigative reporter based on the Annika Bengtzon novels by Swedish journalist and crime writer Liza Marklund. There’s Irish interest here too. Brían F. O’Bryne is signed up.

Battle Creek
Two detectives (Josh Duhamel and Dean Winters) with different outlooks on society and crime are working together in Michigan. Why do we care? Vince Gilligan is behind it, along with David Shore (House, Law & Order).

Cabot College
Two words: Tina Fey. A woman’s college starts to accept men for the first time and hilarity ensues. Margaret Cho (pictured via wiki commons) is on board, Fey produces, Matt Hubbard (Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Joey) writes.

Madame Secretary
American politics continues to be a deep well from which to draw TV refreshments from with this Secretary of State-focussed drama written by Barbara Hall (Homeland, Judging Amy) and starring Téa Leoni.

One Big Happy
An NBC comedy focussing on a lesbian and her straight best mate has Liz Feldman and Ellen involved.
