Whole World Band wins at Eurosonic

Irish start-up earns Dutch kudos.

Mon, Jan 20, 2014, 08:49

While Irish acts such as Le Galaxie and Daithi were drawing big crowds at Eurosonic, the European music industry showcase in the Dutch town of Groningen, an Irish start-up was adding to its nods of approval.

Whole World Band is a fun toy that allows you to mix different live recordings from house artists or other musicians who have uploaded to the app. They’ve left the Netherlands with the Buma Music Meets Tech Award, which is another boost for the start-up, one of many Irish music-focussed apps and online services that are turning heads internationally.
