Fringe In An Instant

A photo essay of the Dublin Fringe Festival by Sarah Francis.

Sarah Francis has done photo essays for PopLife at Electric Picnic and Airwaves (click on those links to see them), and now here’s her latest one documenting theatre makers, actors, directors, performers and more involved in the Dublin Fringe Festival. I love the sweetness of these photographs, shot on Fujifilm Instax 210. The Fringe is quite an intense time for everyone involved – and sometimes for the audience too – so there’s something quite beautiful about people pictured just smiling and enjoying the experience of presenting their work. Theatre is sometimes viewed through quite a serious lens, so the joy and innocence these photographs capture is really quite lovely, in my opinion.
