Went to see The Raid yesterday. Pretty deadly (har har) stuff. Some amazing fight sequences, brilliant inventive deaths (if that’s you’re thing), and it pulled off a trick that many martial arts films don’t: there was a decent enough story so you felt as though there was some purpose to the relentless punching, chopping, stabbing, shooting, flipping, kicking and neck-breaking. Great film to watch with a crowd, with plenty of swearing underneath the audience’s breath every few minutes. Haven’t checked it out yet? The trailer is here:

Anyone at Stewart Lee last week? I saw Carpet Remnant World in London and felt it was the most thought-provoking comedy show I’d ever seen. I interviewed Lee at the time.

The new Bond trailer for Sam Mendes’ Skyfall is here. Anything would be better than Quantum of Snore.
