In today’s paper, there’s a fine editorial on the issue.

Nathaniel Frank on Slate says Obama’s support is a massive deal because “What the president believes and says influences how ordinary Americans think and behave and what laws they are willing to pass.”

The Washington Post details the evolution that brought Obama to this stance.

Richard Kim at The Nation says Obama is merely preserving the status quo and has updated his post based on reactions to it.

The Guardian has a neat roundup of reactions from international gay rights organisations.

Here’s Ireland’s Marriage Equality’s reaction to the Obama interview.

Meanwhile, Bristol Palin thinks Obama’s kids put him up to it. *facepalm*

As a side note, Politico outlined why and how Robin Roberts got the big interview with Obama, although Gawker talks about another alleged factor.
