Every week, we highlight a couple of new acts from around the globe who’ve caught our attention. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.

Louis Mattrs

Brighton singer-songwriter has been edging his way onto the new music radar over the past few years, including working with Chase & Status, but it’s the former footballer’s own beautifully woozy, slo-mo soul and r’n'b sound which is really turning heads. He’s been working on tracks for his forthcoming album with producers Brad Baloo, Two Inch Punch and Ed Thomas so great things can be expected. For now, check out his “Slow Waves” EP, especially the standout “Superman”

“River” from the Los Angeles-based British singer who goes by the name of Bishop is a real wallop of gospel and blues. She has a mighty voice on her and it really suits the song, which was co-written and produced by Ian Scott and Mark Jackson. An earlier track “Wild Horses”, also worked on by that pair who’re part of the Dorothy team, is well worth checking out if “River” takes your fancy.

We reckon a lot of people will be singing the praises of East Los Angeles band Feels after this month’s SXSW beano in Austin. They’re a band penning songs which come with the kind of infectious hooks and riffs which are ideal for pulling big audiences. Their debut album was produced by Ty Segall and “Tell Me” in particular is a tune and a half.
