New acts from Sydney, Melbourne and Los Angeles to run the rule over

Every week, we highlight a couple of new acts from around the globe who’ve caught our attention. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.

A winning collaboration between Sydney producers Jesse Sewell and Carl Fox has produced a couple of strong, evocative, smooth grooves to date like “Horses” and “Karate”. Having just toured with the excellent Tkay Maidza across Australia, expect more from Sewll and Fox in 2016

Melbourne duo Husky Gawenda and Gideon Preiss will be kicking off an European tour later this month to introduce audiences over here to their beguiling mix of classic folky songcraft and tender, psychedelic sounds as seen on new album “Ruckers Hill”.

Oyster Kids

Brand spanking new Los Angeles’ duo Oyster Kids kick off their run on a high with “Creepy”. It’s the kind of well-sculpted, hooksome, infectious indie rock jam which seems pre-destined to do well on playlists and radio shows in the coming months. The new school sound of sunny, hazy LA.
