Here are the latest New Music selections from the On The Record column in tomorrow’s edition of The Ticket. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.

Gaze Is Ghost

Strabane native and London resident Laura McGarrigle is the main mover in this ensemble, though she has been adding musicians like Brigid McCaffery and James Duffy to the ranks in recent times. Her debut album “Plume” is awash with melancholic, ethereal, broody fringes and bows to go with smartly pitched songs which veer from jazz to folk and back again.

Zoe Kravitz is the singer in the band, but don’t hold the sins of the father against her. Pop full of New York City sass and grimey attitude, Lolawolf’s debut EP has lots of intriguing moments, especially when Kravitz and the band (AKA Reputante) gel and get a run of green lights.

Vance Joy

The Australian singer-songwriter probably spent the week celebrating after his tune “Riptide” topped influential radio station Triple 7’s Hottest 100 chart last weekend. Listen to the infectiously breezy indie folk swing of “Riptide” to hear why the man born James Keogh beat everyone from Daft Punk to Lorde to the top berth. The next big Aussie export coming this way?
