Competition: win tickets to South Wind Blows live

Do you want to attend a special live broadcast of South Wind Blows in Dublin with a galaxy of music guests?

The South Wind Blows for Hozier

Mon, Nov 25, 2013, 09:13

Every Sunday night, Philip King hosts the South Wind Blows radio show on RTE Radio One from Co Kerry.

Next Sunday (December 1), as a prelude to the return of Other Voices to Dingle the following weekend, the show will come from RTE studios in Dublin with a number of very special guests performing for a live studio audience.

These guests will include Hozier, I Draw Slow, Lisa O’Neill, David Gray, Rhob Cunningham and Colm Mac Con Iomaire.

We have THREE pairs of tickets to give away for the live show, which will air from 9pm to 10pm next Sunday.

To win a pair, simply email me jimcarrollATirishtimesDOTcom (replacing at with @ and dot with, er, .) before Wednesday at noon with South Wind Blows in the subject line. I’ll then select the winners at random, who will be notified by email that afternoon (ie if you don’t get an email on Wednesday afternoon, you haven’t won).

By the way, the Banter Salon will also be returning to Dingle for Other Voices. We’ve already announced a bunch of guests – including Donal Ryan, Eimear McBride, Gerard Barrett, Alice Maher, Pat Leahy and David Gray – and there’s more to be announced later this week. The Banter Salon will take place at Foxy John’s on Friday December 6 (a tea-time, long-form, one-on-one interview with David Gray at 5pm), Saturday December 7 (2-6pm) and Sunday December 8 (2-6pm) and will also feature special live performances each day. Admission is free but space is limited and on a first-come-first-served basis.

UPDATE: Thanks for the massive response – I knew the show was popular but not that popular. Winners have been notified by email and I hope all of you enjoy the shows. Eyes peeled for another competition soon.
