Electric Picnic 2013 line-up

As predicted by OTR, it’s Stradbally ahoy for Bjork, Arctic Monkeys and Fatboy Slim

Thu, Apr 25, 2013, 12:45

Here you go, festival fans – the first raft of acts playing the 10th (not the 10th anniversary as the press release claims) Electric Picnic in Stradbally, Co Laois from August 30 to September 1

Arctic Monkeys (as predicted by OTR)
Bjork (as predicted by OTR)
Fatboy Slim (as predicted by OTR)
Savages (that news will make a lot of people happy)
Franz Ferdinand (new album coming pronto – kudos to @LaScary for this, though)
David Byrne & St Vincent
Ocean Colour Scene
(there’s always one)
Polica (not Policia as the press release has it)
Chvrches (name spelled wrong on the press release too – the agent will be delighted with that as the booker will soon find out)
Noah & The Whale
Johnny Marr
(we heart Marr and “The Messenger” rules)
Disclosure (hell yeah!)
The Walkmen (one of our fave EP memories is hearing ‘em play “The Rat”)
(second album is utter shite)
Mick Flannery (don’t play poker with Flannery, alright?)
The Strypes
Parquet Courts
(thumbs up)
Deap Valley
(first time gigging in Co Laois for Bridie)

Late additions that, for some reason, the Picnic organisers didn’t announce earlier today (probably on a different piece of paper or the booker had mislaid his calculator or the list was with the Live Nation lawyers for sign-off or something):

My Bloody Valentine
The Knife
Wu-Tang Clan
Hudson Mohawke
Mount Kimbie
Palma Violets
The 1975
Luke Sital-Singh
(a star of the recent Banter Salon in London, dontcha know)
Black Uhuru
Mano Le Tough
(the Greystones dude with the cracking album “Changing Days”)
Mount Kimbie
Nina Nesbitt
(Jimmy’s sister)
Dublin Gospel Choir (you can’t have a Picnic without the lads and lasses in the cloaks)
