Fri, Mar 8, 2013, 09:00

As selected by OTR work experience student Joey Cullen-Tinley

Kate Bush “Wuthering Heights” (EMI)

From 1978; sometimes, the first cut is the best.

Beach House “10 Mile Stereo” (Sub Pop)

Elegantly distinctive vocals from Victoria Legrand, from the band’s “Teen Dream” album. Playing Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens on July 20

Polica “Lay Your Cards Out” (Memphis Industries)

Great track from Polica’s debut album “Give You The Ghost”.

Nina Simone “I Put A Spell On You” (Philips)

Written by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins in 1956, but made even more famous by this powerful and memorable voice.

Chloe Howl “Rumour” (Columbia)

Brilliant and catchy tune, superb voice.
