Oxegen announced the line-up for their Dance Lean-To yesterday which will now be called the Red Bull Electric Ballroom which doesn’t quite have the same ring to it – though it’s better than some of the names we’ve heard it called in the past. Playing Charlie McCreevy’s big shed (which will be decorated as a “grand art-deco style ballroom”) will be Sven Väth, Tiga, Shit Robot, the great Maverick Sabre, the Bloody Beetroots, Diplo (can’t wait to see his tweets on his visit to Co Kildare), Crookers, Fake Blood, Alex Metric and tons more. Sweet line-up.
The Vaselines are incoming. The seminal Scottish combo play Dublin’s Whelan’s on July 12, Cork’s Cyprus Avenue (13) and Galway’s Roisin Dubh Galway (14)
