Seminars on jobs, visas and tax for new arrivals in Canada

The Irish Canadian Immigration Centre (ICAN) is hosting talks for Irish arrivals in Saskatoon, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Calgary and Vancouver this week

The Irish Canadian Immigration Centre (ICAN) is hosting free seminars for Irish arrivals in locations around Canada this week. ICAN has teamed up with Canadian Visa Specialists, and to bring attendees information on visa options for temporary residents, employment opportunities and how to claim Canadian and Irish tax refunds.

Christopher Willis of Canadian Visa Specialists will host a seminar on visa options, which could be helpful for visitors, holders of International Experience Class visas, or work and study permits. He will address options to renew or change your status as well as how to apply for permanent residence. He will also review the recent changes to visa conditions announced by Citizenship & Immigration Canada and how they will affect applicants.

Ercus Long of will host a seminar on claiming income tax refunds from Ireland and Canada. He will explain what taxes will be paid, what expenses can be claimed and how to apply for a refund.

Ruairi Spillane of will host a seminar for jobseekers on finding employment in Canada.
