|What are push notifications?||
Push notifications are messages sent through the app to subscribers’ iPhones or Android devices.
The Irish Times generally sends these notifications when a news story is breaking and the message will usually link to a story in the app.
When a push notification arrives to your handset, it will pop up on your screen, similar to a text message. Depending on your settings, it may arrive with a sound.
Tapping the notification will load the corresponding story in the app.
|How do I turn OFF push notifications?||
On iPhone: Notifications are turned OFF from your device’s Notifications menu.

|How do I comment on the app?||
Any article open to comment will show it is open to comment at the bottom of the article.
Tap on Comment to view that article’s comments.
To add a comment, you need to sign in using your email address and Irish Times password.
|How do I set up a comment account?||At the end of the article you want to comment on, choose the 'Sign up' link above the comment box. Fill in the form and choose a screen name to appear beside your comments. When you have submitted the form you will be sent a confirmation email. Once you have confirmed your email address you can sign in and begin to comment.|
|How do I listen to podcasts in the app?||To listen to podcasts, select Podcasts in the menu and tap on the play icon. You can continue listening to the podcast while you browse the app, or you can pause it.|
|How do I download podcasts and listen to them offline?||To download podcasts, select Podcasts in the menu and tap on the download icon. When the download is complete you will be able to play the podcast when you are offline.|

|How do I save an article?||
To save an article, tap the Save for Later icon at the top of the article. Once saved, you can access articles when you are online or offline from the Saved Articles folder in the menu.
To remove saved articles, tap Edit in the top right hand corner and delete articles that are no longer required by selecting the red icon beside the article.

To remove saved articles, tap and hold an article you wish to remove. A bin icon will appear in the top of the menu, as well as a counter informing you that you have highlighted an article. Simply tap on all articles you wish to delete and when you are happy with your selection, tap the bin icon. This will delete all selected articles.

You can save up to 15 articles in the saved articles folder.
You can save an unlimited amount of articles in the Saved Items folder.
|How do I update or refresh content?||Content will be updated automatically every time you open the app and periodically as you browse. To update the app manually, pull down from the top within any section.|

|Can I use the app if I'm not connected to a Wi-Fi network and I don’t have coverage?||
If you want to use the app offline, save the latest content to your device.
Go to Settings in the app, select Going Offline and then Download Articles.
Once the process is complete, you will be able to access content even if you are offline. Only articles that have been fully downloaded will be available for offline reading can be read.
|How do I change the size of the font in the app?||
The app offers three article font sizes, Standard, Large and Extra Large, which can be adjusted based on user preference.
To change the font size, go to Settings in the app, choose Text Size and select your preferred option.
Your choice can be changed again at any time.
|How do I send feedback on the app?||To send feedback, go to the Settings menu within the app and choose Send Feedback.|
