A major initiative for Ballina features performances by three of the Ireland’s leading performance artists: Amanda Coogan, Dominic Thorpe (above) and Aideen Barry. There’s also a talk by guest speaker Nigel Rolfe and a Q&A session and discussion facilitated by Clíodhna Shaffrey. The event was initiated by Mayo public art co-ordinator Gaynor Seville in collaboration with Sean Walsh, director of Ballina Arts Centre.
The day begins with registration at 10.30am and an address by Rolfe at about 11.15am. After lunch, there are performances by Coogan (1.30pm at the Arts Centre), Barry (1.30pm at the Jackie Clarke Art Collection) and Thorpe (3.30pm at the Civic Offices Gallery). Special package deals are available on accommodation at the Ballina Manor Hotel.
