To celebrate Design Week, which starts on November 5th, the Malthouse Design Centre, at 537 NCR, Dublin 1, presents Living With Design, an exhibition of photographs of some of Ireland’s best-loved creators telling design’s story through everyday objects.

Knitwear designer Lucy Downes chose a spatula "because it exemplifies the principle of 20th-century Modernist architecture and industrial design that form follows function. It has design integrity and is so flexible that it will remove every last 'gloup' of melted chocolate," she explains. Painter and architect Patrick Scott chose a feather duster. Potter Stephen Pearse chose a Danish spoon because "it had the hallmark of being handmade" and reminded him of his mother". See malthousedesigncentre.ie
