Giovanni Trapattoni backed his selection policy again today as he explained last night's defeat to Poland did not concern him. The Italian saw his side beaten 3-2 but for some it was the performance of his midfield that was the biggest concern.
Trapattoni insisted today he was pleased with Darren Gibson and Glenn Whelan, arguing that the younger players have to learn because they are needed when the team is paying a game every three days at the World Cup.
