Tue 08 Aug 2008Georgia qualifier switched to neutral venue
The recent conflict between Georgia and Russia has led to the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifier in Tbilisi on September 6th being moved to a neutral venue. Fifa today confirmed the move but have yet to announce where the match will take place.
Fighting over the South Ossetia region left hundreds of civilians dead and while a ceasefire is now in place Russian forces remain on the ground in Georgia.
