Chad Campbell made his Ryder Cup debut at Oakland Hills in 2004 and the main highlight for him on a disappointing overall team effort was beating Luke Donald 5&3 in the singles.

The 32-year-old is regarded as a quality ball striker who knows how to win when in contention. His breakthrough win on the main PGA Tour came in 2003 when he became the first player in history to record his first win in the season-ending Tour Championship.

The same year saw the Texan almost winning the US PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club, only to beaten by Shaun Micheel’s wondrous seven-iron approach to two inches on the 72nd hole.

Campbell's 2006 season might be described as stop-start but when in the groove he has produced strong finishes, his six top 10s offering up valuable Ryder Cup points. He began the year with a runner-up finish in the Sony Hawaii Open before going one better the following week to win the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. To tie fifth in the WGC – Accenture World Matchplay and third in the Masters boosted his Ryder Cups once more

Having graduated with great success from the Nationwide Tour in 2001 with three wins under his belt, Campbell made a very comfortable transition to the main tour and has been a regular at the business end of the US money list.

And while Campbell is known to enjoy a spot of hunting in his spare time, it's usually a certain Tiger he and the rest are hunting when on the fairways. However, he will be on Tiger's side at the K Club as Tom Lehman's men aim to set the record straight after such an abysmal showing in 2004.
