Former Leeds outhalf Graham Holroyd will not make his debut for Ireland in their opening Rugby League World Cup game against Tonga on Monday after being ruled out for at least nine days with a knee injury.
The 33-year-old, who broke Halifax's goalkicking record this year, was expected to feature at Parramatta Stadium in Sydney but will now be relaced by squad captain Scott Grix alongside scrumhalf Karl Fitzpatrick.
