Donncha O'Callaghan

Ireland (Munster)

Paul O'Connell's engine-room colleague for both Munster and Ireland will need to impress in the early stages of the tour if he is to start alongside the captain in the test series.

Nevertheless, O'Callaghan is capable of biding his time. His Ireland debut came in 2003, five years after winning the Under-19 World Cup alongside fellow current internationals Paddy Wallace and Brian O'Driscoll. He made his first start for the national side - he has won over 100 caps for Munster - against Wales in February 2004 but had to be patient as Paul O'Connell and Malcolm O'Kelly were the favoured second row pairing.

Has played every single game in the last two Six Nations, a reflection on the often un-lauded qualities he brings to the team. Toured with Lions in 2005 and played in two tests.
