Jamie Heaslip
Ireland (Leinster)
Heaslip was nominated for the 2004 Under-21 World Player of the Year after a series of brilliant performances for Ireland in the underage World Cup in Glasgow when the national team reached the final before losing to the All Blacks.
Made his Leinster debut in 2005 and became the 1000th player to be capped by Ireland on his debut against the Pacific Islands in 2006.
Career scaled new heights this season with a brilliant individual try against France and another against the Scots. Also a key figure in Leinster's march to the Heineken Cup final. Strong, athletic, quick with a great skill set, the hard South African tracks will be ideal for his game.
In keeping with every stage of his career, Heaslip gradually flourished in his new environment, culminating in a dynamic, pacey and intelligent display in the third Test. We can’t expect games like that from him every week but he’s raised the bar again now.
