Leigh Halfpenny
Wales (Cardiff Blues)
Having been let go by the Ospreys as a teenager, Halfpenny shot to prominence since making his Cardiff and Wales debuts this season.
Blessed with pace to burn and natural try-scoring instincts, the winger has a bright future in the game and would almost certainly have been handed the chance to play his way into the first XV before he succumbed to a thigh injury that delayed his departure.
The talented Wales and Blues winger joined the tour late, faced the Cheetahs and went home after the injury recurred.
