Tommy Bowe

Ireland (Ospreys)

The 25-year-old from Emyvale in Co Monagahan has scored 10 tries in 23 caps since making his Ireland debut against the USA in 2004, including perhaps arguably his most important against Wales in the Grand Slam decider in this season's Six Nations Championship.

Decided to switch from Ulster to the Ospreys last season, one of the most eyebrow-raising moves abroad by any Irish player, and made himself at home among the galacticos of the Welsh outfit.

His versatility, lines of running, playmaking and finishing meant he became been a stand out performer for both club and country. Strong, quick, athletic, can play fullback, wing and centre.

Outstanding run-in to Test series, his heads-up rugby, lines of running, soft hands and finishing making him a shoo-in for the Tests when, admittedly, his presence fell away a little, though such was his status he was picked at outside centre in the third Test and was one of only five to play every minute of test series.
