Ballyboden double hopes remain alive
Dublin SHC semi-final replay: Ballyboden St Enda’s hopes of a Championship double remain alive after they saw off O’Toole’s by 1-17 to 1-10 in their semi-final replay at Parnell Park tonight.
The holders sprung from the traps and were 0-9 to 0-3 ahead after 20 minutes. Just before the break Simon Lambert scored a goal for the southside club as they took a ten-point (1-11 to 0-4) advantage into the break
With Dublin goalkeeper Gary Maguire in inspired form, Ballyboden were never in any danger of giving up such a commanding lead with Kevin Flynn’s penalty in the last minute purely a consolation for O’Toole’s.
Like the football decider, Ballyboden will have a short run-in to the decider against Craobh Chiaráin, with the final taking place at Parnell Park on Sunday.
Scorers - Ballyboden St Enda’s: P Ryan 0-8 (7f), S Lambert 1-2, D Sweeney 0-3, D Curtin, N McMorrow, C Keaney, E Carroll 0-1 each. O’Toole’s: A Morris 0-3 (2f), B McLoughlin 0-3 (3f), K Flynn 1-0 (pen), P Carton 0-2, G O’Mara, P Brennan 0-1 each.
