McGeady to miss Wales friendly with knee injury

Spartak Moscow confirm winger picked up knock in training

Winger Aiden McGeady is the latest player to drop out of the Republic of Ireland squad for the friendly international against Wales in Cardiff next week.

Spartak Moscow confirmed that their player suffered a tendon injury in a knee during training with the club.

Yeovil Town striker Paddy Madden has already been put on standby for the game at Cardiff City Stadium next Wednesday.

The chances of the former Bohemians player making his debut have increased after McGeady joined Anthony Pilkington, Simon Cox and Stephen Quinn on the list of absentees.
