Injury and suspension updates ahead of all the action

SATURDAY

West Ham (4) v Manchester City (2), 12.45pm - Live BT Sport 1
West Ham will be boosted by the returns of James Tomkins and Cheikhou Kouyate. Defender Tomkins and midfielder Kouyate have recovered from thigh and groin problems respectively while striker Andy Carroll is back in training but not considered ready for the clash at Upton Park. Guy Demel (thigh), Joey O'Brien (knee) and James Collins (groin) are also out injured.

Former England midfielder Frank Lampard has been ruled out for Manchester City. Lampard suffered a thigh injury in last Saturday's 4-1 win over Tottenham and will not be back in training until next week. Playmaker Samir Nasri, who had groin surgery last month, has now rejoined the squad and could be back in contention to play next week. Last season: Man City 2 West Ham 0, West Ham 1 Man City

Liverpool (5) v Hull (11), 3.0pm
Misfiring striker Mario Balotelli is likely to keep his place in the Reds attack as manager Brendan Rodgers has limited options up front. The 24-year-old has scored just once in 10 appearances but with Daniel Sturridge still sidelined by a calf problem the Italy international will probably start ahead of Rickie Lambert. Midfielder Adam Lallana is pushing for a starting place after impressing as a substitute in the midweek defeat to Real Madrid.

Injuries have hit Hull hard in the past week. Third-choice goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic is in line for only his second league start with Allan McGregor (shoulder) and Steve Harper (bicep) both out, while striker Nikica Jelavic (knee) and centre back Michael Dawson (ankle) are both missing for at least a month. Left back Andy Robertson has a knock that is set to keep him out too, but Tom Huddlestone should be fine to play through discomfort for the third game in a row.

Southampton (3) v Stoke (10), 3.0pm
Ronald Koeman can select the same Southampton squad that thumped Sunderland 8-0, with no new injury concerns ahead of three games in eight days for the Saints.

Glenn Whelan is out and full back Phil Bardsley doubtful for Stoke. Whelan fractured a leg during the Republic of Ireland’s recent Euro 2016 qualifier against Germany and is sidelined for up to six weeks, whilst Bardsley will undergo a late fitness test for a back problem. Centre back Robert Huth and midfielder Marko Arnautovic, who both missed last weekend’s 2-1 home win over Swansea through injury, come back into contention.

Sunderland (17) v Arsenal (7), 3.0pm
Full back Anthony Reveillere will be included in the Sunderland squad provided the club receives his international clearance. The 34-year-old Frenchman, a free agent after leaving Napoli in the summer, signed a short-term contract until the end of the season on Thursday after training with the Black Cats for the previous two weeks. His arrival could be timely for head coach Gus Poyet with fellow defenders Sebastian Coates (thigh) and Billy Jones (hamstring) likely to be sidelined for several more weeks, while midfielders Emanuele Giaccherini (ankle) and Ricky Alvarez (knee) are also still out.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will be suspended after collecting five cautions. Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny returns having served a one-match European ban for the midweek Champions League win at Anderlecht. England forward Theo Walcott has played for the under-21s following nine months out with a knee injury, but is not expected to return to the first-team squad until next weekend. Defender Laurent Koscielny (Achilles), midfielder Mesut Özil (knee), goalkeeper David Ospina (thigh), striker Yaya Sanogo (hamstring), midfielder Abou Diaby (calf) and France forward Olivier Giroud (fractured foot) are all still out, along with long-term absentee Mathieu Debuchy (ankle).

Swansea (8) v Leicester (15), 3.0pm
Jonjo Shelvey is set to return for Swansea having served a one-match ban last weekend for picking up five bookings. England under-21 international Tom Carroll deputised for him in the controversial 2-1 defeat at Stoke. Leon Britton (knee), Jordi Amat (knee), Dwight Tiendalli (groin) and Jazz Richards (knee) are still missing as Swansea seek to end a run of five league games without a win.

Riyad Mahrez could return for Leicester after he was left out of the Foxes’ 1-0 defeat at Newcastle. Boss Nigel Pearson did not want to risk the winger after he only returned from international duty with Algeria 24 hours before the clash with the Magpies. Pearson has virtually a full-strength side to pick from with only Matt Upson (ankle) and cruciate knee ligament injury victim Zoumana Bakayogo – who was not named in the Foxes’ Premier League squad – out.

West Brom (14) v Crystal Palace (16), 3.0pm - Live Setanta Sports 1
England goalkeeper Ben Foster is set to return to West Brom's starting line-up. Foster missed Monday's 2-2 draw with Manchester United due to a calf injury but head coach Alan Irvine revealed he is back in training and "fine" ahead of the Eagles' visit. Winger Silvestre Varela is still out after groin surgery while midfielder Claudio Yacob is in his native Argentina due to family illness. Defender Jonas Olsson is struggling with a niggling Achilles injury.

James McArthur and Scott Dann are both expected to miss out for Palace. McArthur and Dann are struggling with hip and knee injuries respectively while Republic of Ireland centre back Damien Delaney is serving a one-match suspension after being sent off against Chelsea last weekend. Delaney’s absence could see Martin Kelly or Adrian Mariappa play in central defence as Palace look to avoid a third consecutive defeat.

SUNDAY

Burnley (19) v Everton (13), 1.30pm - Live Sky Sports 1
Burnley midfielder Dean Marney remains a doubt having missed the last three games with a hamstring injury and will be given a late test by the club's medical staff. Steven Reid and Michael Keane are pushing for recalls after groin and hamstring problems respectively, but Matthew Taylor remains absent as he awaits an Achilles operation.

James McCarthy, Séamus Coleman, Steven Naismith and Leon Osman could all return for Everton. Naismith and Osman were left out of the travelling party for Thursday’s Europa League trip to face Lille while Coleman was an unused substitute and McCarthy played only the last few minutes. The Toffees have no new injury worries but Kevin Mirallas (hamstring) and John Stones (ankle) remain sidelined while Bryan Oviedo and Arouna Kona are still not match-fit.

Tottenham (9) v Newcastle (18)
Federico Fazio will miss out for Tottenham through suspension. The 27-year-old summer signing was sent off on his top-flight debut against Manchester City, ruling him out of Sunday's match at White Hart Lane. Nabil Bentaleb and Kyle Naughton will have ankle complaints assessed before the Magpies' visit, while Kyle Walker remains absent after abdominal surgery.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is keeping his fingers crossed over a series of injury doubts. In-form striker Papiss Cisse is a doubt with a knee problem, while fellow forward Emmanuel Riviere, who missed last weekend’s 1-0 win over Leicester with an unspecified knock, is in a similar situation. So too are defenders Mike Williamson (muscle problem), Paul Dummett (hamstring) and midfielders Cheick Tiote (calf) and Sammy Ameobi (knock). Utility man Ryan Taylor returns to the squad for the first time in 26 months after two cruciate ligament injuries and Rolando Aarons (hamstring) is also on the mend, but fellow midfielder Siem de Jong is unlikely to return until January as he continues to battle his way back from a torn thigh muscle.

Manchester United (6) v Chelsea (1), 4.0pm - Live Sky Sports 1
Captain Wayne Rooney will miss out for Manchester United as he serves the final game of a three-match suspension. Angel di Maria has overcome the slight thigh injury he suffered in the 2-2 draw against West Brom, but it looks unlikely that midfielder Michael Carrick will feature this weekend as he has been released to the under-21 squad for their game at West Ham on Friday night. Defenders Jonny Evans (foot) and Paddy McNair (hamstring), as well as midfielders Jesse Lingard (knee) and Antonio Valencia (hamstring) are out.

Striker Diego Costa could return from a hamstring injury and illness. Fellow forward Loic Remy (groin) is out, while midfielders John Obi Mikel (foot) and Ramires (groin) could return alongside Andre Schürrle, who has recovered from illness. Full back Cesar Azpilicueta is banned for the first of three games following his dismissal at Crystal Palace last weekend.

MONDAY

QPR (20) v Aston Villa (12), 8.0pm - Live Sky Sports 1
Adel Taarabt could be offered the opportunity to prove himself to manager Harry Redknapp. Taarabt and Redknapp had a public disagreement this week when the QPR boss accused the Morocco playmaker of being overweight. Defender Nedum Onuoha hopes to shake off a hamstring problem sustained against Liverpool while midfielders Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch could be fit again after recent hamstring trouble, but Alejandro Faurlin (knee) is a long-term injury absentee.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is hopeful Philippe Senderos will be fit after the defender missed the 3-0 defeat at Everton with a thigh injury. England midfielder Fabian Delph is definitely out after he dislocated his shoulder last week having fallen awkwardly during training. Libor Kozak (broken leg) remains a long-term absentee but Christian Benteke is set to start again now he has fully recovered from a ruptured Achilles.
