Sligo 0-14 NUIG 1-9:Sligo survived a spirited second-half rally by NUIG to hang on for a narrow two-point win at Tourlestrane.
Brian Egan and Kenneth Sweeney kicked seven points between them to give Sligo a 0-10 to 0-4 interval lead.
Cathal Freeman got a goal to give NUIG hope and the visitors led briefly through Shane Lally in the 48th minute before Sligo regained enough control to earn a narrow win.
