Sizing Europe cruises to victory in Clonmel Chase

Sizing Europe cruised to victory as his prohibitive odds suggested he would in the Clonmel Oil Chase.

Henry de Bromhead’s multiple Grade One winner was sent off at 1 to 7 in the Grade Two contest against four rivals and he never looked in any serious bother.

Rathlin set out to make most of the running in the second colours of owners Gigginstown House Stud, with Magnanimity, in the first-choice silks, settled in behind.

Andrew Lynch was happy to keep the 2011 Queen Mother Champion Chase winner in third in the early stages but Lynch soon moved him up to track the leader.

The class act took up the running halfway down the back straight and put 15 lengths between himself and his pursuers in no time to cross the line well clear of Magnanimity.
