McLaughlin remains a concern for Leinster

Rugby:Leinster have no “major” injury worries ahead of the visit of the Scarlets  to the RDS on Saturday night (7.45pm), but flanker Kevin McLaughlin remains a doubt for the game with a knee injury.

Andrew Goodman was substituted as a precaution in the bonus-point win over Benetton Treviso on Saturday after sustaining an eye injury, but he is expected to train fully this week.

Ireland backrow McLaughlin will be monitored in the coming days, along with Isa Nacewa, for whom a recurrence of an arm injury has proved problematic.

Flanker Shane Jennings will be back in the reckoning after missing the 40-5 win over the Italians, while centre Brendan Macken should also return after missing last weekend’s game with a minor hamstring niggle.

Dominic Ryan scored a hat-trick in the win over Treviso, which took Leinster to within two points of second-placed Glasgow and three-points ahead of Scarlets. A win over the Welsh side this week would be a significant boost to their hopes of a play-off spot with six game-weeks remaining.
