Rugby:Leinster has yet to make a decision on the availability of flanker Kevin McLaughlin for Saturday’s Heineken Cup clash against Clermont at the Aviva Stadium following the heavy knock he shipped in the away game in France last Sunday.

McLaughlin required on-field attention towards the end of the 15-12 defeat at Stade Marcel Michelin after a blow to the head, but was able to walk from the pitch unaided.

Leinster coach Joe Schmidt will make a decision later in the week ahead of naming his side at lunchtime on Friday.

David Kearney and Eoin O’Malley could return to the panel this weekend as they continue their rehabilitation from injury, while Luke Fitzgerald is on course to play a part in the Christmas schedule of interprovincial games in the Pro 12 league.
