Kane Douglas remains Leinster’s biggest concern ahead of Harlequins

Richardt Strauss and Luke Fitzgerald being monitored ahead of Champions Cup clash

Leinster are still monitoring the condition of lock Kane Douglas, hooker Richardt Strauss and Luke Fitzgerald ahead of the resumption of Champions Cup action against Harlequins at The Stoop on Sunday (3.15pm).

Fitzgerald was among a quartet of players who returned to training today – along with Rob Kearney, Ian Madigan and Fergus McFadden – but his chronic abductor/groin strain means he "is the most sensitive of the issues" from those "expected to be available for selection at the weekend".

"There was also further good news with Mike McCarthy and Tom Denton returning to full training," according to a Leinster statement today. "Tom picked up a knock to his calf, not to his head as had been reported in some quarters."

Neither Strauss nor Douglas have taken “any part in training” this week, with the latter being “monitored on a daily basis through the return to play protocols” after suffering a concussion during the 18-12 win over Ospreys at the weekend.
