Vroum Vroum Mag looks the one to beat

Fresh from Hurricane Fly’s emotional Morgiana Hurdle victory on Sunday, the Ruby Walsh-Willie Mullins team can continue their winning form at Wexford where Vroum Vroum Mag looks an interesting recruit to fences.

Winner of a bumper and a hurdle from six starts in her native France, the Rich Ricci -owned five year old is joined in a Mares Beginners Chase by other promising recruits in Emily Gray and Aidan O'Brien's Beach Of Falesa, all of which have to concede experience to Down Ace.

However the Mullins team is in such a good form that Vroum Vroum Mag looks the one to beat, as do the Gigginstown pair, Aminabad and Measureofmydreams in the opening maiden hurdles.

Walsh is on board both smart bumper winners and Aminabad in particular should be more than sharp enough for a race that Briar Hill won for the champion jockey at imposing 1-9 odds in 2013.

Hell Cat Maggie was fifth in that race a year ago and returns today for a trappy looking mares hurdle which could come down to who best handles the forecast “soft to heavy” ground conditions.

They hardly look ideal for the top-rated Hell Cat Maggie, Solita or Cloudy Rock so the Thurles winner Mrs McVeale could be the safest option now that she reverts to hurdles.
