My Titania up in trip for Group Two at HQ

Oxx: ‘Nine furlongs would look an ideal trip . . . so we’ll see how she goes’

John Oxx is ready to step his star filly My Titania up in trip for her second start of the season at the Curragh this Sunday.

Oxx is targeting the Group Two Kilboy Estate Stakes over nine furlongs for the daughter of Sea The Stars who made a belated start to the campaign when fourth to Rizeena in the Coronation Stakes over a mile at Royal Ascot.

“Nine furlongs would look an ideal trip for her, certainly a nice progression from the mile of the Coronation. So we’ll see how she goes,” said Oxx yesterday. “She hit the gates very fast in Ascot. She jumped out like a sprinter and there was no pace so she was a bit too keen for the first few furlongs . . . it was disappointing it didn’t go to plan but I was happy with the way she coped with it,” he added.

The Kilboy Estate was won by the Oxx team in 2001 with Manieree. Last year the race was went to the subsequent Breeders Cup heroine Dank.
